Forgiving Exercises

Forgiving Exercises

How many of you, wanted to avoid this page?

If just the thought of forgiving that (blank de blank), puts you immediately into the tension mode, then you definitely need to be here.

Often we think that if we forgive that person... you know the one..., then it means that what they did was okay!  I want you to know, that just because you forgive them, it does not let them off the hook for what they did to you or a loved one. It just let's YOU off the hook!

What do I mean by that? The person may still need to pay the consequences for what they have done. They may pay for it here on earth, or if they have not asked the Lord to forgive them for what they did, then they will suffer the consequences of their action(s) when their name comes up for review, before Jesus returns to gather up those who love Him.

But YOU my dear friend, suffer a needless amount, by holding onto unforgiveness.

How do you suffer?

You get stomach aches

You get ulcers

You get headaches

You get chest pain

You get a scowl deeply embedded into your forehead

Your body no longer has a gentle freedom of movement

You age quicker

You may develop heart disease

You may develop cancer

You push people away from you due to your pent up anger

It robs you of your joy

They take up space in your brain

Etc...

But the two most critical ways that you suffer, is;

It stops you from recovering from diseases, because it depletes your immune system

Lastly, and definitely the most important aspect, is found in Matthew 18: 23 - 35 of the bible.

Jesus is more than willing to forgive us of how we have hurt others, all He asks in return is for us to forgive those who have hurt us. That is the condition we are faced with. We pay a huge price for... can I be frank here? It is our stubborn heart that prevents us from forgiving others. I KNOW!!!! I know that is what kept me holding onto not letting go and letting God deal with it. Nothing escapes Him. He sees what others have done, and He promises to take care of it, in His own time and in His own way.

So, are you ready to stop suffering any longer, and work on forgiving ALL those who have wronged you?

Below is a link to an exercise that I give my counselling clients. Just click on the button below, and you can download it onto your computer or cell. If you use it, you have just saved yourself $65 an hour, because you will no longer need to see a counselor to address this important topic.
